RIP Photo Albums, Hello Instagram

It’s crazy how even with the ability to be constantly connected to each other, we manage to intentionally disconnect from each other. We engage with our faceless followers on our smartphones and we fail to engage with our friends and families at the dinner table. I intentionally look for shots to “frame” on my Instagram meanwhile forgetting to appreciate the beauty that exists on the other side of the camera lens. But hey do it for the likes right? Because people double tapping on their screens is the best gauge of how great of a person I am right?

Photo albums were the Instagram of the past, and yet think about how often we look at those. Yes, they are nostalgic, and remembering is important, but just remember, if you don’t appreciate the present, it will simply just pass you by and you’ll be left with some digital photos with some worthless numbers and weird comments under them.
